Kurt Parsons

ChIef executive officer

Kurt Parsons is a retired U.S. Naval Officer with over 20 years of active duty service.  Kurt spent 4 years as a U.S. Navy Deep Sea Diver operational throughout Southeast Asia in 11 different nations. As a U.S. Navy Pilot, Kurt flew the P-3C Orion and deployed to 8 countries flying over 1500 hours operationally, including over 150 hours in combat zones as an Officer in Charge, Mission Commander and Patrol Plane Commander fighting the global war on terror.  He was awarded 44 different medals and ribbons, including the Bronze Star (Combat Action), Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (Strike Flight), Navy Commendation Medals, Navy Achievement Medals, and Combat Action Ribbon.  In June 2012, Mr. Parsons purchased Platform Systems Aerospace and became the CEO.  Incorporated in 1993, Platform is an aerospace manufacturing company that integrates new aviation technologies through rapid prototyping, engineering design, analysis and aircraft modifications.  Kurt holds a M.S. from the Naval Post Graduate School and a B.S. from Jacksonville University. 


MICHAEL SEAL

CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

A 20 year retired U.S. Navy veteran, Michael Seal provides leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative oversight and reporting procedures for Platform Aerospace operational success.  He spent 20 years in Naval Aviation responsible for every aspect of maintenance on several different airframes.  Michael also served as the Value Stream Manager and FAA Repair Station Supervisor at Crane Aerospace for over 2 years.  His high level of aviation proficiency is critical and he is recognized as the expert on the most challenging projects.  Michael has a M.A. in Organizational Leadership and a B.S. in Professional Aeronautics to include the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Candlist Greenwell has 11 years of professional experience in the Accounting field and is a critical piece to the Platform Aero team.  She is a well-rounded accountant with in-depth knowledge of government contracting accounting, cash-flow analysis, multi-state tax planning, payroll processing and much more. Mrs. Greenwell founded Accurate Accounting Certified Public Accountants, LLC, in 2013.  Her mission is to help business owners better understand their financial information to make the best financial decisions and teach owners the value of accounting records as an aid for targeting profitable customers, identifying inefficiencies in routine processes and locating areas of cost savings.  She has assisted many clients in improving and maintaining their accounting system for compliance with DCAA and GAAP.  She has performed external auditing, evaluated internal controls and implemented new and modified practices to eliminate risks and improve efficiency.

 She was a key contributor as the CFO for another local government contractor.  She implemented policies and procedures to improve operations and effectively coordinated open communication between Project Managers and Administration.  She has excelled in many capacities, holding titles such as Business owner, Sr. Financial Analyst, Chief Financial Officer, Adjunct Professor and Sr. Accountant; all of which she has shared her expertise and unique skill-set and vast knowledge of business strategies.

 Mrs. Greenwell is a Maryland Certified Public Accountant and holds an Intuit Certification as QuickBooks Pro Advisor. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Maryland University College in Accounting; graduated Summa Cum Laude and a Master of Science Degree from University of Maryland University College in Management with specialization in Accounting.

Dan Edwards

Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Dan Edwards brings executive-level leadership to this critical position at Platform Aerospace where he is focused on managing the various scientific and technological issues that arise.  Dan earned his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from North Carolina State University with an emphasis on flight controls and has over 45 publications and several patents pending.  He is excited to bring this technology background to advance both current and future product lines at Platform Aerospace.  He spent 15 years at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in the Tactical Electronic Warfare Division developing many advanced unmanned aircraft designs and technologies.  His achievements include multiple unmanned aviation world’s firsts and unofficial world records using developmental alternate power systems, such as using liquid hydrogen feeding a fuel cell to demonstrate 48 hours of endurance with a Group-2 UAV named Ion Tiger.  Building on his graduate work and an internship at NASA Dryden Flight Research Center, Dan invented custom autonomous soaring algorithms to ride on invisible air currents, which demonstrated 5 hours of endurance and 115 km goal-and-return on a Group-1 UAV sailplane with no motor at all.  Some of his more exotic design projects included a CD-sized UAV named CICADA that deploys in very large swarms, a rocket-launched helicopter demonstrator, and three variants of flying submarines.

Wendy Lee

VP and Director of Business Development

Wendy Lee is a long-time leader of successful teams supporting defense agencies with 30 years of experience supporting the U.S. Navy (USN) primarily as well as the U.S. Marine Corp (USMC), U.S. Air Force (USAF), Federal Government, and industry.  As VP and Director of Business Development she brings executive level experience to the Platform Aerospace team in business analysis and decision making, business development, profit and loss center management, long term growth solutions, and pipeline development. Wendy’s experiences from the 'hangar deck' to the executive suite gives her a unique ability in relating to our Government customers which provides the best mix of technical and business resources to meet their needs on schedule and at a competitive price.  Wendy began her career as a USAF Military Pay Analyst with follow-on time supporting the District of Columbia Air National Guard as Executive Assistant to the Squadron Commander. She joined the NAVAIR community in 1989 originally with ISI as an IT Specialist, moving on to MIL Corporation supporting F18 and Subsequently EA6B as and IT Analyst and moving over to the program side as as an Acquisition Analyst with Camber supporting PMA-266, Navy and Marine Corp Multi-Mission Tactical Unmanned Aircraft Systems, where she worked on the Small Tactical Unmanned Air System (STUAS) and the Vertical Takeoff Unmanned Air Vehicle (VTUAV) programs. Her outstanding workforce and business management skills, customer relationships and technical expertise led to her promotion to Operations Manager at Camber’s Patuxent River Office, and subsequently to Deputy and eventually Vice President and Division Manager with responsibility for contracts producing approximately $85M in annual revenue.  As the Vice President for Strategic Operations and Business Development for Ausley she continued that success with her sound relationships and customer insight that led to the win of several large IDIQs and task orders prior to the acquisition of Ausley by MAG Aerospace.  Ms. Lee has earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Ashworth College.

Anan Takroori

Director of Engineering

Anan Takroori is our Lead Aerospace Engineer and Director of Engineering.  Anan uses his several years of experience in the design, simulation and analysis in both the Automotive & Aerospace industries to lead the Engineering Department throughout the life cycle of the project from concept to production.  Anan helps create a dynamic relationship between the engineering and production teams in order to provide the best product that meets the customer’s requirements.  Anan moved to the U.S in 2005 and originally from Palestine, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical & Aerospace Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology. 


BRIAN READ

PRODUCTION ENGINEER 

Brian Read is the Production Engineer for Platform Aerospace and plays a key role in moving each project through the transition from innovative design to manufacturing and installation. He is a self-motivated, team player who is a relentless problem solver and has proven successful over his 10 years as an engineer in the defense and aerospace industry.  Brian oversees multiple projects ranging from engineering design and airworthiness certifications while providing high quality leadership in solving our client’s unique challenges and quick turnarounds.  As a Certified Professional in Solidworks and an Adjunct Instructor at the College of Southern Maryland, his skill set goes beyond in his dedication to the high standards set at Platform Aerospace and is shown in every project accomplished.

JESSE JACOBSON

LEAD FABRICATOR

Jesse Jacobson, Navy Veteran, has over 16 years’ experience in the aviation field with extensive experience in repair and maintenance on a plethora of aviation systems and equipment.  He is responsible for ensuring that urgent and special projects meet the deadlines while also conforming to airworthiness configurations.  As a very focused and top performing flight operations, safety and production manager, he has specialized experience in advance composite repair, fabrication and management.  His skill set includes manufacturing, project management, quality assurance, employee training, and safety.  He is an analytical thinker who leverages organizational skills to work through operational issues and generate effective solutions.  Jesse is a strong communicator with a high sense of urgency that exceeds expectations while working well under pressure, often in difficult circumstances. Having his leadership in our Fabrication and Installation Department is critical in ensuring that Platform Aerospace’s high standards are maintained from concept to design to in flight on the aircraft.

James Epp

Lead Machinist

James Epp has over 15 years’ experience in the fabrication field with extensive experience in CNC Machining.  Currently he is responsible for leading the CNC Department which includes multiple CNC Machines with a vast amount of capabilities, scheduling workloads, and ensuring all project meet critical deadlines while also maintaining tight tolerances on all machined parts. His skill sets include project management, quality assurance, employee training and safety as well as manufacturing, welding (Certified), programming and setup for 3/5 Axis CNC Milling and Live Tool CNC Turning. Having James’ leadership in the CNC department plays a major role ensuring that Platform Aerospace’s high standards are continued and we staying up to date with currently technology.


RON REICHENBACH

SENIOR FABRICATOR 

Ron Reichenbach, Flight Engineer and Navy Veteran, has over 20 years’ experience in the aviation repair and maintenance fields with experience on many aviation systems and equipmentRon's skill set includes manufacturing, project management, quality assurance, employee training, and safety and outside the box thinking to solve the complex problems our clients demand. Having Ron’s experience and leadership in our Fabrication and Installation Department is a key ingrediant in ensuring that Platform Aerospace’s high standards are maintained every systems integration project.
